Hear her “Why”

Amelia is running for the Kansas House because she understands firsthand how difficult life has become for too many Kansas families. Like many people in Johnson County, she has watched the cost of housing, groceries, healthcare, child care, and transportation continue to rise while working families are expected to do more with less. She believes Kansans deserve leaders who understand those struggles not as political talking points, but as everyday realities.

For too long, politics in Topeka has focused on division instead of solutions. Amelia is running to fight for affordable communities, fully funded public schools, accessible public transportation, reproductive freedom, and an economy where people can build stable lives without constantly worrying about making ends meet.

As a caregiver for her 103-year-old grandmother, Amelia knows the value of compassion, patience, and showing up for people when they need help most. She believes government should do the same- listening to constituents, investing in communities, and creating opportunities so every Kansan has the chance not just to get by, but to thrive.
